MTX Series

Tracking Antenna - 5 sizes: 2' to 6' (0.61m - 1.83m)

Auto-Calibration, Acquisition and Tracking in Single to Quad-Band Configurations UHF to Ku

Troll’s MTX Series tactical tracking antennas maximize the range and reliability of air-to-ground video and data from manned and unmanned airborne and ground vehicles. Available in five sizes these systems feature high-gain parabolic reflectors that provide exceptional long-range performance, automated calibration, acquisition and tracking. MTX antenna’s support multiple frequencies UHF, L, S, C, X and Ku in as many as four bands simultaneously. Radio agnostic, MTX antennas can track any analog or digital waveform: CDLs, FDD, DVB-T COFDM, OFDM and MANET / MIMO.

Quick connect radio and filter modules allow customers to choose our standard SDR or specify their own tactical radios. Troll Systems also provides multiplexers and filtering options to suit specific customer, radio or mission profiles.

MTX modular designs go beyond radios and filters to include mechanical systems that require no tools to setup or dismantle. MTX antenna’s can be deployed in less than ten minutes with just a two-man crew.

MTX Series mobile antennas automate tracking using a variety of methodologies, including GPS telemetry and Troll’s patented frequency tracking software. Even in GPS denied environments these systems automatically locate airborne or ground transmissions and maintain lock using one or more methods of tracking.

Dual-GPS and Embedded INS
MTX Series antennas utilize a high performance DGPS and a precision Inertial Navigation System (INS) that incorporates the latest solid-state sensor technology. Mounted directly to the antenna’s boresight, the INS combines three-axis accelerometers, gyros, magnetometers, a barometric pressure sensor, two GNSS receivers, and a low-power micro-processor. In static and dynamic situations, the INS relies on these multiple sensor types to establish location, orientation and alignment in three-dimensions without operator input. Once initialized, the system dynamically maintains boresight alignment automatically. Self-optimizing, gear train or mechanical flexure errors are simply normalized out of the tracking feedback loop.

Common User Interface
MTX Antenna Systems are Intelligent and network aware. They rely on a Common User Interface consistent across all of Troll’s airborne and ground data link products. These systems provide multiple serial or Ethernet video transport streams and ensure long-range, bidirectional transmission and reception in as many as four frequency bands simultaneously. Intelligent, MTX Series antennas provide high-speed connections between airborne and ground assets while supporting a variety of secure radio waveforms and network topologies commonly used for defense applications.
