Nebraska State Patrol Selects Troll Systems for Air-to-Ground Surveillance Infrastructure

Nebraska State Patrol’s Air Support Unit has selected Troll Systems as the technology leader to enable a statewide real time transmission of HD video and data to fixed and mobile receive sites. Captain Frank Peck recently spoke about NSP’s relationship with Troll. “Troll’s equipment has worked phenomenally for us. The product support has been incredible helping us get online, and stay online continuously. The training aspect is amazing. They have helped us better use the system to benefit us, and the citizens of Nebraska.”

Troll’s turnkey solution included design and integration of the Troll LinkBox transmitter system and the Mini II antenna installed on a Cessna 206 and Bell 407. “Troll’s new technology was able to integrate seamlessly with our mapping and camera systems. We are able to access it from our touch screen and operate and or change things on the fly. It’s all right there. There are no extra bulky control points or access points to deal with in the cockpit. That streamlined approach provides a greater sense of comfort during critical missions. We can do it all in one step.”

Nebraska experienced all-time records of flooding earlier this year. Troll’s video system was used to relay critical aerial footage of roads and buildings where some were stranded in Kearney and other surrounding areas. “During the flooding we were able to zoom in on very specific areas to give the various responders exactly what they needed. This was invaluable during the flood, and would be for any natural or manmade event.”
